I really enjoyed the opportunity to give a plenary talk on scaling quantum optimization at MOPTA conference (Modeling and Optimization: Theory and Applications). MOPTA brings together an exciting mix of researchers and practitioners working across discrete and continuous optimization, with a great balance of theory and applications.
We discussed some of our recent work on developing building blocks for quantum optimization approaches that can scale to larger and more practically relevant problems, as well as the opportunities and challenges that arise when connecting quantum computing with modern optimization.
It was a great conference, many interesting conversations and discussions throughout the event. Many thanks to the organizers for the invitation and for putting together such an engaging program!
